Mallard ducklings help?

Today 9 mallard Ducklings hatched on my dock, I live at a lake, the mother duck hatched eggs in a pot that was inside a wooden pot holder and when the eggs hatched, they fell out of the pot and into the pot holder. My father moved the pot out of the pot holder with gloves on. The mother keeps coming back and she hops up to look into the pot holder, but can't seem to go in the holder, she knows they are there but doesn't go into it. And if we tip the pot holder and put it on the side the babies will come out and could fall in the lake or walk away. Any advice on what I can do, if I can do anything?
